Events

Come join your fellow Rotarians and help pack meals for the Martin County Backpack Weekend Food program.  This program is partnered with Heaven’s Table where they pack lunches for children (K-6) to have on the weekend.  They usually pack 385 lunches per week and look to have a group of volunteers for an hour to pack.  

Fairmont Rotary (first 8 volunteers) will be packing on Monday, 3/30 from 12-1 PM, there is no noon meeting that day since it is a 5th Monday fun event.

For this month's service event, the Service Committee is partnering with the Fun Committee to combine events!  We'll start the event at 4:00pm with an hour of walking trails in Fairmont to pick up trash and finish with hanging out at the Yacht Club.  

Below is a sign-up for the four trails that we have walked before, more can join but ask that you spread the love and sign up for walking a trail that may not have anyone on it.  If you have another trail that you would like to recommend, please reach out to Hubble Werre and we can add it to the list.

For the Cedar Creek North trail, the group can meet up at Southwood Dr to walk the north section eventually meeting up with the Cedar Creek South group.

*After the groups meet, they would then turn around as the whole trail has been covered.  

For the Cedar Creek South trial, the group can meet up at Cedar Creek Park, walk the trail at the park, and then walk the extended trail north eventually meeting up with the Cedar Creek North group.

For the Hobo trail, the group can meet up at the trail head off Lake Ave, walk the small section to the north, and then walk the trail south to meet up with the Kings Rd group.

For the Kings Rd trail, the group can meet at the intersection of Kings Rd and Hengen St and then walk the trail north until they meet up with the Hobo trail group. 

For the Long Horns trail, the group can meet at the Good Stop gas station (by McDonald's) and walk south.  

Service committee is hosting a trail clean up, see events for details and sign up. This will be from 4-5:00pm prior to the Fun event at the Yacht Club. 

Speakers will present virtually via Zoom

We will meet at the SMEC building, 115 S Park St, Fairmont to assemble our school supply packs for Kindergarten classes. Lunch will be provided. 

We will meet onsite at The Hive, downtown Fairmont, 105 W 1st St, Fairmont. Lunch will be provided. 

Service event in August, we will be serving the Free Community Meal on Wednesday August 26th. This is always a well-attended event that serves many people in the community and is also kid friendly if you have family members who would also like to volunteer with you. 

The following times are when we would need volunteers to support: 

4:00 PM to 5:30 PM - Setting Up

5:30 PM to 6:30 PM - Serving food & bussing tables

6:30 PM to 7:00 PM - Clean up

Join the Fairmont Rotary fundraising committee as we host a Poker Fun Run. This will be geared towards Side by Sides & ATVs as we travel through-out Martin County (all vehicles welcome!). 

10am to 11am Registration at Gomsrud Park, Fairmont - $20 per participant

11am - Ride Begins

11:30am - Stop 1 at Welcome Legion

1:00pm - Stop 2 at The Still, Dunnell MN

2:30pm - Stop 3 at The Red Carpet, Sherburn MN

4:00pm - Stop 4 at Lake Belt Bar & Grill, Ceylon MN

5:30pm - Return to Fairmont, final stop at Ambiance on Albion

Meet other Rotary members for a social gathering at the Green Mill 4-6pm. 

We’re coming up on our annual support of the Fairmont Hot Meals on Wheels program. We are signed up to support deliveries between September 16th and September 30th.  

There are two routes requiring two drivers daily.  However, STEP is taking one route everyday so we need to only find one driver for each day. Meals are delivered between 11:30-12:30 pm & are picked up at door #1 at Lakeview Methodist. The routes will have recipient’s name and address and each route has a map included.
